I have experienced similar things when hole shooting with the engine trimmed out; generally speaking. Trimming in cured it.
I do know that the Hustler has a very good cup and also has (mine does) vent holes. I know that if I am trimmed in tight the vent holes do nothing. I have to trim out to where the vent plate is parallel to the hull to get the desired results (revving) from the vents that were installed in the prop to produce.
The last thing is that your lower pitched prop spins out faster than your others (as mentioned) so it has a better opportunity to genereate a vacuum at the surface which can suck in some air and can cause ventilation.
Since you already ran a Hustler, it must be the latter.
Butttttt the vent holes are in the prop to produce just that....higher revs (controlled blowout) which delelop your hp faster which gets you on plane faster. So it could be either or a combination of the two.
