Strange thing a 25hp 70s Evinrude

I have been out boating first time this spring.

Engine started ok ran fine all day, Ive only ran at low speed.
After we had stopped for a wile started again ran fine.
The way back we stopped again after this stop the motor didn't start fine and only ran at high RPM cleaned the spark plugs helped a bit but no much (replaced them before we left).

went high speed back to the marina but it wouldnt idlle any more.

what could this be?????????

Things done this winter, replaced tail gear oil replaced head seal cleaned carb.

When you cleaned the carb, did you get to all the orifices and jets, particularly the low speed one?

May simply be some adjusting.

Guess so. I've let it soak in cleaner so it should've been everywhere.

If it had be dirty it should have not worked from the beginning.

see the sticky at the top of the forum about carb cleaning. you could have loosed some gunk, that broke loose and clogged the jets.
