I have a 05 150 4 stroke. I put about 70 miles on her on an ocean trip last week. At the ramp while the motor was at an idle, I heard a light whining noise from the top of the motor. I took the cowling off and removed the plastic cover to reveal the belt and pullies. The whining noise seemed to come from the belt. I sprayed some belt dressing on the belt but the noise was still there. Upon further inspection, I think the noise is coming from a small steel wheel that the belt turns.

Anyone know what this wheel is? If you are standing in the boat and looking down on the motor, it is located on the left hand side about midway down. I sprayed some WD-40 around that wheel but it still seems to whine a little bit. It only really whines loud enough for you to hear it after a long run.

Also, after running her for about an hour and a half or so and you shut the motor off, it is a little hard to get back started. If it sits for about half an hour or so it fires right up

Thanks...
