Hi guys I was just sitting here at work thinking of how many strange lake names there are in the country. A lot of ours around here are named after Native American tribes or sayings. We have Quaboug pond and Quabbin resivour but I dont think anything beats the lake in Webster Mass, (we all reffer to as Webster lake), in reality its name is Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg. Can anyone top that?

Lakes I've been on can't top that name, but here's the ones that I can remember...Lewis and Clark, Ozarks, DeSoto Bend, Manawa, Okabogi, McConohay, Pawnee, Mojave, Mead, Beaver, Havasu, Pleasant, Saguaro, Canyon, Apache, Roosevelt, Powell, June Lake....and probably a few more.

Let's see if anyone can misspell more lake names than that!:D

My favorite lake name is Possum Kingdom.

Don't have any strange lake names, but I would bet that the Cree name for Lake Of The Woods is a duesy.

My brother has his cabin at Muddy Hole which raises an eyebrough in conversation. I've fished many lakes with Native names, so it seems normal. The most friendly lake name I have been on is Go Home Lake . Really makes me feel welcome.
