I ordered some smart tabs the SX model. Now that I have them I'm afraid they will not mount on my boat. I was hoping someone out there had done it and can give some advise. One of the problems is that the center of the transom come out where the motor mounts to the boat and the top bracket might hit right in the corner. I can't just try it because I am going to have to reposition the Speedo pitot just to try. Plus it is snowing and 10 degrees out. I really want these tabs. All I've heard are good things snd my little boat needs them.

Thanks in advance

Honestly not sure what advice you're looking for. If measuring the tab and measuring the available space won't tell you what you need to know, then just unscrew the pitot tube and move it out of the way. You don't need to reposition anything just to dry-fit the tab.

Why not check the fit on the port side of the boat, instead - there's no pitot tube there.

Re: Stratos 258v Anyone ever put smart tabs on?

Called the manufacturer. They are very nice to deal with. They suggested moving my tie down points and the pitot. The picture I sent was not the best in the world and I am going to take a few more to send them. One of the other issues is the amount, or lack there of, flat surface at the bottom edge of the boat where the actual tab bracket will mount. It is tapered from the outside edge and and gets greater as you move towards the center line. the bracket is about 1" to 1 1/2" tall be about 10" long. the tabs are suppose to be mounted as far out to the sides of the boat as possible and this taper is causing me to have to place them about 1 foot in from the sides. On a boat that is only about 6 feet wide that is quite a bit. I will take the pitot off to check and dry-fit, but it is 12 degrees and snowing and my boat cover has about 4 inches of snow. What I was looking for was a little piece of mind that someone had "been there and done that". Thanks for the replies.

Also my transducer is in the exact same place on the opposite is or the boat.

When in doubt, always correct your prop first.

Re: Stratos 258v Anyone ever put smart tabs on?

I email John at Nauticus after a brief phone call. Then I sent another email with a picture. All I can say is WOW. I had problems understanding my own email. John then called me using the # in my email signature and said "I figured it would be easier to just call and talk about it." That my friends is customer service. If by some small chance I can not mount these to my Stratos 258 I think I'll have to buy another boat before I would send them back. I just would not feel right. The only thing John could not or would not do is pipe in some warm weather so that I could get these thing installed and tested..

Thanks again John!
