Hey I Boats, I do have a question, but first let me say, long time listener short time caller. I love this site.
I recently sold my boat(missing it already). But we sold it buy a bigger one. We recently looked at a 1985 Sea Ray Monaco 21' and Overall shape is in good condition, the thing that concerns me is that the entire hull below the waterline has stress cracks from bow to stern, up the transom to the waterline and hardly any on the hull above the waterline. I can see the water line pretty clearly cause the boat is stored in a slip during the summer(according to current owner) and it hasn't been cleaned yet.
What would cause it to be just below the water line and none above it(impact cracks?). If it's stored in the water how much water has gotten in the fiberglass(dark lines). Should I calmly walk away from this. I know the boat needs some work like vinyl. That's ok cause I do interior restoration on cars. I just hate messing with fiberglass.
