Stringers- reglassing?

Our stringers are in excellent condition on a 1983 Supra Rider. Unfortunately, the people (we do not know who) had them repaired just before we bought the boat and the repair shop did a horrible job glassing the stringers. How do we redo the glassing? The wood is also, unfortunately, treated, but we don't have the extra money or time since we just invested in the boat to put in untreated wood. Any suggestions? And will the glassing in its current condition risk the condition of the current stringers? THANKS!!

Re: Stringers- reglassing?

If the current stringers are dry you should have no problems with adding additional glass. While pictures would help if the glassing is just sloppy. You could grind out the rough parts before you add the new glass.

If however the stringers are now wet and/or starting to rot adding new glass on to of old will accomplish nothing.
