Re: Striper Boats

My friend has a 26 walkaround I believe it is a 2006. I have been out on it a few times and it rides nice. We were in some slop and it handled it O.K. No problems with the hull to speak of. He puts alot of hours on it and has had little trouble. I will be honest and tell you that he thinks my 24ft. Mark Twain walkaround is a much better ride then his. The Stripers are light boats and do tend to pound but are a good boat for the money. His is also equipped with a 250 Etec. I will be talking to him later and will ask about any complaints he has about the boat. Oh I thought of one....he has a really hard time getting it on the trailer straight. I told him to get a bunk trailer LOL.

Never been on a Striper that pounded.

I have been darn impressed with the ride quality. They are made for coastal use. Atlantic ocean and Chesapeake on crappy days: Striper impressed me.

The hull shape has a lot of deadrise, and the front is shaped to slice and soften.

Overall build quality is very good.

They are in Ch 11 bankruptcy. My local Striper dealer dropped them and picked up a new franchise.

Chapter 11 = reorganization and not end of the company.

Good hulls. They run with Yammy power, so very good there.
