I launched around 0730 and began rolling anchovies at 20' and 30' from the ramps toward Deer Flat. I could see boiling along the first cove for some time before I got there. When I reached that first cove along Deer Flat, I began tossing a RattleTrap near weeds that had stripers boiling, chasing shad, I suppose. I couldn't toss into the weeds, but around them, but couldn't get a bite. There were small boils in the main lake much of the morning, and I tossed into some of them - also with no luck. But I didn't take the time to reel in the downriggers and give the boils all the effort I could have.

I did manage one 4? lb. striper on the 20' deep troll. That one came fairly early - but that was all I could manage for the morning's efforts.

By 1100 the lice were taking over, and by noon when I left it was pure summertime havoc on the lake. But not nearly as bad as it must be on weekends! I'm glad I don't have to fish weekends!

If they were boiling/busting the top, should have been throwing some type of topwater bait.
Here at Lake Cumberland, when they start, that is what is used to catch them and catch them well.
