going down to catskill n.y. on the hudson river this weekend, to try some stripper fishing. went down last weekend to check out the boat ramp. i stoped in to the river basin sport shop to get some info on fishing strippers. one way is to drift troll a live herring or chunk bait a couple of feet of bottom in about 25 ft of water. or troll 6 to 8 inch stick baits 100 to 120 ft back behind the boat. i cant believe i have lived in the adirondack region all my life ,and never went after these sea run fish. when the run gets real hot you can catch fish up to 20 to 40 lbs and 50 is not unheard of. any of you guys have experience with fishing strippers, any info greatly apreciated.

hey laker taker...i love going Stripper hunting, but my girl friends hates it...she dont mind me Striper fishing though ha ha ha

I think it might be kinda early for fish all the way up to Catskill...but I could be wrong , its all water temps...

the Rip Van Winkle bridhe down to newburgh is good in may.

i ahvent gone much lately, because I hate when the river is running muddy and high, which has been the case the last few years.

Not sure which one cost me more over the years, strippers or fishing, I don't think I can afford to combine the two! Although if the fishing was a little slow......

come on, if you dont fall in love, strippers are way cheaper than fishing, especially if you got to buy a boat to go!!
