Stuck Alpha One outdrive

I inherited a '91 Bayliner Capri from my uncle. He said it needed a front seal, a trim pump for the outdrive and some interior work. Well, I got the motor out, replaced the front cover that was rusted through, new gaskets on everything, rebuilt fuel pump, new recirc pump, plugs, points, hoses and belts and now I'm ready to put it back in the boat. The problem is that I can't get the outdrive off. I had to remove the front motor mount and do some wiggling to get the motor out but now I need to lose the drive to get it in. I got it broke free but can't get it to slide more than about 1/2" from the bellhousing. The Gearshift/Throttle is in forward, the six mounting nuts are off and there's no oil level indicator or speedo cable to hang up. It wiggles but won't come off.
Any help here?
Thanks in advance,
Scotty

I seen guys hook back up the rams and push it off. Other guys hook a truck up with a cable.

Push it in pull it out. In, out, you get he idea.

Spray with pb blaster.

Good luck.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ACTUAL SHIFT SHAFT POSITIONED IN FORWARD GEAR! If the lower shift cable is toast, the drive may not really be in forward. Check it with prop rotation. If it's not truly in forward gear, the shift shafts on the drive won't slide apart. Forcing it will cause damage if the shift shafts cannot slide apart. This condition is visible from the outside when the drive is trimmed up.

If it's in forward and really stuck, it sounds like the input shaft and the gimbal bearing are rusted together. Spray some PB blaster on it from the interior side.

I've used a get them unstuck trick before where you lower the drive, wedge a piece of soft lumber between the top of the drive and the exterior housing, then trim it up to wedge it off. Don't try to pry them apart at the gasket surface. The surface is soft aluminum and it will leak later if you do this.
