OK..OK. I'm new to boating. Never change a bilge pump switch by yourself! So I reach down for the float switch and it is six inches futher than I can reach on a good day. I make one last ditch effort to reach the switch. I slip, upside down into abyss, with no one around for miles to pull me out. I am stuck! Four hours later, a security guard comes by and sees a light coming from the engine compartment on my boat. He gets concerned since it is 1:00 am and no one is around the marina. He looks in my boat to see my legs sicking out the hatch and me singing some sort of Maroon 5 song. He saved the day, along with a big laugh. He even ask to to hang on another few mintues so he could get his camara. The marina told me later that usually they just leave the old swich and drop in a new one because its so hard to reach. How dumb it am.

Had my arm stuck under the dash of a 78 Granada removing the heater core. Nobody home, cold day in November. Waited 2 hours for help. So relieved when son showed up, arm relaxed and I was free. <br />Moral: Some things are less expensive to have someone else do.

Re: stuck in boat upside down

As a young hippie, I had very long busy hair. One day while, using a dolly with 4 " casters instead of a mechanic's creeper to work under my '69 Chevy van, I decided that I needed to get out from under the van to get some tools. Lying on my back under the van, I gave a good shove with my feet. Using the sharp pain in the side of my head as a clue, I determined that I had wrapped a huge clod of my hippie mane around one of the casters.<br />All attempts to free myself were in vain.<br /><br />A couple of hours later, my brother arrived and <br />after laughing for a while, was kind enough to hack away the tangled hair. <br /> <br />"Never mind how it got that way ! Just cut it...short"
