Well took my 76 evinrude 115 for a fishing tourney yesterday and had a disater. Fires of all i started the boat an it took off wow stuck in gear, must be something in the foot, linkage up top is good, then i suffered a massive loss of power, lower carb was pouring gas out of the butterfly something furious.Any suggestions on the foot would be greas. Oh due to my being limited in my first tournament ever i still had fun...thanks

Re: stuck in drive

First problem sounds like linkage problem between the powerhead and the lower unit. Check the shift rod to see if it's come disconnected. If it was in any other part of the linkage, the neutral safety switch would have prevented it starting.

The gas pouring out of the front of carb sounds like a very typical stuck float or faulty needle valve. Cleaning and carb kit called for.
