Stuck in forward gear

I removed the sterndrive to replace the u-joints, and gimbal bearing. Placed the shifter in forward gear. After reinstalling it. The drive is now stuck in forward. No matter where the shifter is. It will even start in while it is like this. Any ideal?

shift arm slipped out of the slider?, need to pull the drive to inspect.

You guys were right! Removed the drive, placed the shift arm back in place. reassembled. Shifts fine.
