Replacing a recirc valve on a C55. It's in a tough location at the bottom of the intake. Can barely get pliers on it and haven't budged it yet. Gonna put the vise grips on it tomorrow, but not sure that will work either.
In case I cannot remove the valve, can the valve be flushed out so that it will work? It is stuck open.

Re: Stuck recirc valve

Still struggling with valve removal. Tried vise grips but couldn't grab it . I might remove the starter to see if I can get a hold of it from the side. This seems like my only chance at moving it. Any ideas?

Anyone had any luck cleaning these things out in place with carb cleaner and compressed air?

Re: Stuck recirc valve

The only solution I have found is to replace. Some times I have had to get out the special tool(hammer) and tap until it loosens up enough to pull out before I can remove.

Thanks Ray. I will give that a try. Been taking it kinda slow for fear of ruining it and still not getting it out.

Re: Stuck recirc valve

The hammer did the trick. It came out pretty easily after I whacked on it a bit. Thanks again.

The new one I have does not fit as tight. I saw on here somewhere a sealant I should use. I'll do a little more digging to see if I can find it.
