My husband and I recently bought our first boat. It has an 86 merc 45 horse. The guys we bought it from said reverse was *knocked out*. My husband found an 86 merc and swapped lower ends. Now forward and reverse are backwards. And reverse is still not working. The guy we bought the 86 lower end from showed us it worked in borth directions. And now while he is pulling his hair out going crazy looking at it trying to figure out what he did wrong I am searching for answers. Can anyone help?
