I've obviously got some kind of ground issue with my clearance lights. Everytime I wire them up to the brown trailer wires on each side of my boat trailer it blows a fuse and only the break lights work. When I disconnect the clearance lights completely, and then replace the fuse, the running lights work fine leading me to believe it is simply a problem with the wiring of the clearance lights.
I have these optronics clearance lights: http://www.atafa.com/sports/products/Optronics_CLEARANCE_LIGHT_AMBER_MCAS-281643.html
They come with one quick connect wire that goes to the brown running lights wire. Supposedly the ground is completed with the metal tab that touches the wire that holds the light to the trailer. Should I install a separate ground wire and screw?
