So the other day I pull up to the public boat launch which has 2 boat ramps. There were a few people waiting to launch so I had to wait a little bit.
Well I noticied this one guy on the ramp with some older maybe late 70's early 80's 24FT. bowrider that looked really rough and the trailer it was on was in really bad shape. So this guy is taking up the ramp and working on his engine doing something to it.
Well after 15-20 minutes he finishes that up and now it's my turn to launch.
I go down the other ramp and I'm watching this guy and they back the boat down the ramp and attempt to launch the boat.
They get it maybe half way off the trailer and something goes wrong and he tells his buddy to pull up to get out of the water. He couldn't get the boat to restart. While they are doing this the boat is only half way on the trailer and they don't even attempt to try and winch it back on the trailer.
So while they are pulling the boat up the ramp I hear this loud CLUNK and OH NO the rear axle falls off along with the 2 right wheels.
The guy starts cussin up and storm and says screw it. Puts a block of wood behind the one tire and unhitches it from the truck and then LEAVES it on the ramp and drives off. So here is this boat and trailer with the boat hanging way off the trailer about to fall off.
The ramp has somewhat of a steep incline on it as well and everyone thought the block wouldn't hold and that it would roll into the water.
I get in the water on my boat and take off to do some wakeboarding and was just shaking my head at this guy.
So a hour later I come back to see what was going on and here is a flatbed towtruck and a Conservation Officer and they are winching the boat on the flatbed.
Apparently they said he abandoned it and wasn't going to pick it up.
He also got plenty of tickets to go along with it.........
Some people I tell ya..... WHAT ARE THEY THINKING????
