Stupid question about sealing scratches on bottom of the boat

I have used JB Weld for just about everything with success....can it be used on the bottom of my fiberglass boat to seal scratches from continuous beaching? I actually see some under there from a previous owner. I am planning to paint my boat this fall anyway.<br /><br />Thanks

You can go out and buy a gel coat repair kit or a small can of gel coat for under $25.Its not hard to repair that problem.Do it right,don't use jb weld for that repair.
