Stupid question Volvo 270

Volvo AQ125A/270 out drive. Okay this may the dumdum ?? of the week and btw I'm waiting for the manual. Is there a way of running the engine with throttle without engaging the outdrive like my evenrude with warm up lever a merc. I had with a disengage at he handle what am I missing or is this not an option

The shifter handle on most Volvos/Bayliners will, in neutral pull out and then forward.Called fast idle.Try that.J

yep, pull the handle out towards the driver and then throttle up and down. It took me a few times out in the boat to figure it out too.

If you have a Volvo control, there is a red button in the center of the control handle that you push in. If you go to the volvo link below, you can type in your engine model number in the engine type box and download the OEM owners manual, it has pictures to show you how to operate the control.

Thanks Don this is the one I have and considering it's elec it's prob filthy like everything else so far lol more homework to be done. But at least I nailed that bloody starter

That control is not electric, you may have a couple of wires going to it for the neutral safety switch. But it's not an electrically operated control.

I've been a firm believer that when one asks and receives than one needs to take the time to say thanks. So thanks guys as it turns out the how to was still on the stick amazing what you find with a little 409 but it's also amazing how the Mfg. will write things. "pull for neutral" how bout "pull for warm up" or "pull to disengage"
