Stupid question

Hi all,

I am new with boats and probably ask stupid question.
After around 1 hour boat trip and taking boat out I removed plug and usually water starts coming out. It is not much – and amount of water may vary from trip to trip. I also noticed same thing on other boats.
Is it normal? In addition, how is water coming into boat – I did not notice any leaks from engine or somewhere else.

Thanks

Re: Stupid question

The only real way to know is to observe.

My buddy took on a lot of water last season several times out and could not figure why. Finally he got into it and discovered that a drain hose from one of his side compartments had cracked. Every time that outlet dipped below water, water leaked from the hose. At the dock the drain opening was above the waterline so that's why it never took on water there.

Re: Stupid question

First of all, there is no such thing as a stupid question, this is how we all learn, that being said, I dont believe you should take on any water unless you have people jumping in the lake and returning to boat drippin wet.
However... you are taking on alittle somewhere, keep lookin, you'll find it!!

Re: Stupid question

Some of the water might be from rain when it is docked/trailered.
