i have a fising seat mounted on a swivl-eze lock n pin pedestal, with about a 24" pin type extension...after my recent deck replacement, i made some changes to the deck height and i need to lower this seat. but try as i may, i can't get the seat and pedastal off of the extension pole...i know that it locks on tight so the seat won't fall off the pole easily, but it can be removed, right? i'm thinkin' that it might just be corrosion or the like...any ideas? anyone had the same problem?

These can become hard to remove...I've found the ones w/nylon bushing more difficult than the metal ones (brass?). Might try good old WD40 on it.

BL...

yea i know the guy every evening after work he goes into his shed with a 12 pack of beer and a hammer and screwdriver trying to get the seat off. Tonight he is going to try sam adams bottles for the 12 pack and an old rusty bicycle chain to try to get the seat off.

Re: stupid seat question...

maybe so, but captmc has devoted every waking hour for 4 1/2 years to this problem, finally hit on the idea of contacting the company, and now you ridicule him for his efforts?

Re: stupid seat question...

Hey i saw on the news that this guy is getting close to getting the problem solved. Thats great! He has been really working hard on it lately. I think he said that he spends about 2-3 hours a day on it. In about another couple of months he should have the problem kicked! anyways i have been watching this thread for years to see if i could help this guy out any during this project. Its nice to know that he is getting close to solving the problem after all these years.

Re: stupid seat question...

for new guys look at this, i found holding the seat, and using a pipe wrench, twisting the pedistal is the easiest way to get them off.
