Stupid trolling motor mount question

Color me stupid, but I got my new Minn Kota Auto Pilot today, and realized it doesn't have any kind of "mount" that would allow me to take it off and on quickly. Went back to the catalog and of course found what I wanted...I think? I hope so, because I ordered it!

Anything special I should know about mounting this thing? When it's in the "stow away" position, (laying down for travel) is the prop supposed to be hanging over the bow, and if so, how far? My instructions don't really show where it should be, but I think it must hang far enough over so that when you lower it into the water, it clears the edge of the boat? But that will mean it hangs over the bow about 6+ inches in the stow position?

I never really paid attention to anyone else's before, but they didn't seem like they rode that way?

Anyone have a pic of theirs mounted on their boat?

Thanks for any help!

Howdy, BBogey.

When mounted and in the stowed position the motor and prop will stick out a bit.

If you want, Email me and I will send you a couple of pics of my installation, including removable mount.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)
