Stupid Waxing Question

This might sound stupid, but does fiberglass soak in the wax you put on it? I have done the 3 step process from 3M on restoring a weathered finish. Both turned out great but after a few days the slippery feel and shine seems to diminish a bit. Would multiple applications of wax help this?

What color is your boat? I think that what you are experiencing is the solvents in the products you were using penetrate into the gelcoat and the finish looks great untill they evaporate out. When I polish gel coat, I use laquer thinner between applications of compound and wipe it dry. You will then know if you need to do more compounding.
