I have a 2004 Johnson (Suzuki) DF140 with 90 hours on it. Maintained & operated well, stored indoors (trailered boat).
The last time I was out, running at 4000 rpm, it kinda fell flat for a few seconds then picked up again. It was then reluctant to gain higher rpm for a few more seconds, but then cleared up.
It happened once more, but seems to run fine now, but it has developed a "stutter" at idle or trolling speed. It kind of misses a beat for a nano-second. No other symptoms.
I have changed the fuel filter (water trap) on the boat, and it still persists.
The manual says to change the plugs at 100 hours (probably for emission reasons) but they all look perfect and consistent.
Could a plug be faulty? A plug lead? Any other ideas?
