Re: Style of Props

there are dozens of prop styles, blade rake, cup, diameter, allong with other characteristics vary by manufacturer and boat type. I have three sets of the same pitch props which behave differently which is why I use a propeller shop the props run about $20 dollars more than on line, but if i am not happy they will exchange it for me. you are paying $20 for the service. I personally think it is a bargain to deal face to face with an expert.

The prop on the left is a realatively standard design for V-hull or planing hulls. The prop on the left looks more like a pontoon or workboat prop.

The question is what are you looking to do... and on what style of boat?

The Boat is a 1988 Bayliner Capri 19'. I'm looking for a spare Prop. I don't pull a Tube or Skier I just cruise around the Lake. The Boat is just used for spending the Day on the Water & taking My Wife out to Lunch and Dinner at different Parks and Marinas.

We've been doing these things on a motorcycle for 36 Years. Now that we are Retired and Live by the Lake I bought this Boat a Freind had in His Yard being ignored (He has a 21' Bass Tracker Pontoon) and collecting leaves. I've already put a new Floor in it and replaced the Trigger, impeller,a CD box adjusted Carbs And set Timing it runs great:D I forgot to mention it has a Force 125hp.

Thanks
Gary

Re: Style of Props

I had the same boat only an '89! Be careful, it is an addiction.......

I had a 14.25x 21p prop, squared blade.... works good all around for cruising and even pulling a tube, loses alot when trying to get someone out of the water on skis though.

I like the prop though...
