I have an old styrofoam sailboat and I want to paint over the entire thing with some kind of sealer that will harden and make the boat much more durable, like an epoxy. Can anyone suggest a product that will do this and not eat the styrofoam?

I don't think epoxy will eat styrofoam... Gluvit (an epoxy) would be my choice....

Sorry, by "eat" I meant melt, from the heat generated by the reaction.

Polyester resin will disolve styrofoam, epoxy resin will not. Anyone know about vinylester resin?

Are you putting cloth on the sailboat? If not, you should consider it. Also, how about one coat of epoxy and cloth and then finish filling the cloth with polyester resin?
