Alright after using my boat on the lake and then returning home and forgetting to pull plug, the back end of my boat filled with rain water enough to cover the battery completly with the pos and neg wires still connected. None of the switches at the helm were submerged. I have since tried several batteries and none of my dash switches work now. They are all connected to a 6 gang fuse panel, with switches that light up when on. none of my fuses are blown and only one of the switches lights up now, but none of the switches activate the electronics, such as running lights, bilge, horn, livewell. The panel is getting power but the power is not reaching the stuff. What could be wrong?

Re: Submerged battery

Everything is grounded through the battery. I have 1 pos and 1 neg going from batt. to switches. The neg goes to a neg fuse bus, which all neg sides of electronics go to. then a wire is ran from this to the neg side on the actual switch gang panel. The pos wire runs all way from the batt. to the pos side on the switch panel. I just got the horn to work by cutting wires and hooking strait to batt. then resplicing and using the switch panel got it to work, but none of the other switches will even lite up. Im thinking that the 3 week old 6 gang switch panel swiches were fried somehow.

Re: Submerged battery

Since you know you have power to the pos. buss make up some jumpers. to take the switches out. You'll know right away if it's the switch panel. If it is the switch panel , post it with the brand. It might save someone else a lot of trouble trying to figure out a MOE. (Marvel of Engineering)

Re: Submerged battery

Check the connectors (wire to connector) at the battery they could be ate up by electrolysis, might still get a voltage reading but not enough contact to conduct any kind of current. :)
