Submersible Lighting Alternative?

I have been researching underwater lighting for my boat. I can only find these $500-$1000 LED lights. It just seems silly to spend that much on lighting.

Are there any alternatives to these LED's, something way cheaper? Actually, I would like a 12v submersible drop style light that I could just throw over the side of the boat for night fishing..

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.....

Yes, it does seem silly. For just a few dollars you can buy a battery powered LED light (there are many styles) and seal it up in a plastic bag with a rope tied to it. That should work for fishing.

I bought a cheap 31 LED flashlite on ebay....thing is brite....I fooled around and sealed the lense up with clear silicone on the edges....used grease on the battery cap....threw it in a 5 gallon bucket over night....was on in the morning....now I use it as my nite bait lite when fishing...drop over the side and works great....

Oh where the rubber push on switch is I used a tire patch with some GOOP on the edges to seal it....

total cost was under 12.00

I only know about this one becuase when cleaning out the storage in a recently purchased lake house I found one...

The second one here is what I found under the house:

But do a search at ebay on "floating fishing light" - I see them from $10 to $30, depending on if you want incandescent or LED.

Anyway, A Yahoo! search on "buy floating fishing light" turns up a zillion options.
