suggested maintenance while engine is removed?

I have to pull my engine to find a mystery leak near the exhaust Y, is there some suggested maintenance to do while the engine is out? Assuming that the leak isnt coming from the transom seal.......should that be replaced since i will be in there? or is that something that doesnt go bad without outside influences (ie: transom rot)?

Its a '95 Reinell w/Merc 5.0L Alpha 1 Gen II drive.

flappers and motor mount bushings. coupler?

It might be a good time to attach an oil drain hose to the pan, if you want to go that way.
