Hello

First time boat buyer. I am looking at Yamaha 242 Limited S. I think this is the only boat that fits my needs. Boss lady must have a bathroom on board and a little spray shower that my car can tow.
I have 2004 LX470 that maxes out at 6500; boat and trailer dry weight is 4869 LBS.

Boat and trailer costs $50,999. How much discount can I realistically ask for and expect?

Here is a link to the boat.

I am guessing I have added cost such as insurance, storage and maintenance fees. Is there anything I left out? What else do I need? Is there anything I am over looking?

Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Is this boat made in the USA?

Anyway, If you can get it for $40K, then be real happy. You may end up in the low-mid $40K range . . . it is a popular boat, as it packs a lot into a nice package.

All set with safety equipment, anchor, lines, etc?

All set with boater safety course - Power Squadron or Coast Guard Auxiliary?

yep... Had one at my local boat show, and almost left there a poor man! Very, very nice boat!

As far as actually using the bathroom, I'd tell her to get used to 'other' methods... Its a pain to have to constantly empty a port-a-potty, but if its what it takes for her to get the boat, yeah I can understand that.

Finally, you were adding up costs... That boat (and really any boat that size) is going to be thirsty. I"m sure you have seen http://www.boattest.com/boats/boat_video.aspx?id=2057#Test-Result

At best cruise, its 3.25 mpg, at WOT its 2.22 mpg. (which is actually good for a large 24 fter, considering it is a jet its on par or better than some prop boats)

I didn't realize Yamaha was making boats this big. Sweet ride!
