Suggestions for New Prop?

Well, Lake Thurmond (Clarks Hill) ate my prop and now wondering if it was the best set up for my Ebbtide Mystique 1900 with 5.0 Alpha 1. My first summer with the boat (1995 Model) and it is used for skiing and tubing.

The prop "was" a Stainless Ballistic (#345133) 14 1/2 x 19 RH.

So any suggestions on a new set up or was this one pretty good?

As a side note the boat was purchased used but only had 70 total hours :) and I work with the previous owner.

Any suggestions very much appreciated!

That was probably pretty good. To really fine tune the following is needed
.
Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load

Thanks for the help.

The WOT is 4000 RPM with a speed of 42 MPH. The printed WOT is 4200 to 4600 in owners manual and the engine does have a rev limiter.

Have read a couple of bad things about the "Ballistic" prop that centers around the tips of the prop blades designed to be "cut off" and just wondering if this helps or hurts the needed hole shots for tubing/skiing.

Having not previously owned a boat just not sure if the hole shots can be improved with a different prop or even a four bladed prop.

Again, thanks and any suggestions appreciated. :)

Ballistic are not the best for pulling a skier. Pick up a std AL or SS 3 blade 17 pitch or if you want to go with a 4 blade look for one in an 18 pitch.

imo that setup should be at least be in the 4600 rpm range and closer to 50 mph.
I've seen 3.0s use a 17" for skiing on a 19ft boat.If the boat is really heavy or really deep V 50 might be a stretch but 4600 with a 19" prop should be possible
and more than 42.Could be as simple as throttle adjustment. Is the bottom clean and smooth?

I have a 18' tempest bowrider (84). Im not sure on the correct prop that i should be useing. At 3400 rpm the boat does about 32mph, it seems a little on the slow side but maybe im expecting too much. Its powered by a volvo 260. Please help
