suggestions on a good trolling motor

I need some Ideas on the best trolling motor I should get. I have a 24' Odyssey pontoon boat. The wind here can be a bear at times. I would like to get

You will need at least a 70 or 80 pd. trust 24 volt motor with the wind and size of your pontoon. I just mounted a Terrova on mine 12 volt 55 pd. trust but my pontoon is 20' what features you want on the trolling motor depends how much money you want to spend.

Buy a 2.5 hp 4 stroke merc. tiller extender and your good to go

"Trolling motor" is ambiguous. Do you want to sit in the front seat and have foot pedals to move you around fishing spots? Or do you want a kicker to "troll" long lines out the back of the boat, with the added benefit of safety?

If the former, read post #2. If the latter, buy a 9.9 4 stroke. If you go with a gas powered OB, forget the tiller and install a SS rod so you can control the steering of the main.
