suggestions on how to paint my lower gear on a alpha1

new at boating, decided to change out my impeller and over all pretty easy.
but my lower gear drive i think needs some painting. an suggestions.
its a alpha 1.

You basically have 2 options. One is to use spray cans of Quicksilver 'Phantom Black'. The other is to strip the whole thing down, etch primer it and then spray it with a 2 pack black....

(I used an etch primer then a 2 pack black on my new engine oil pan and it turned out really well. Better than the original.)

I wouldn't put too much effort into re-painting the outdrive . . . it will look about the same as it does now after a few outings. Hit the bare spots with some outdrive primer (Primocon, etc) and then go for the Rustoleum black or any black gloss enamel will be fine.

It is going to be an annual thing.
