Oh yea, you got a boat maybe a home on the lake or a home with a pool. Suddenly you are VERY popular with neighbors and people you hardly know. People who could have these amenities but for whatever reason choose to free load off others who do. I really hate those who are just too lazy to work for extra stuff in life. Oh no they would rather put you on the free loader spot.
How does everyone deal with these types?. I just say NO! :D

Those are the same people that when the time comes to clean up & put away for the year they are nowhere to be found or busy.

Grass, gas, or ***...no one rides for free. hahaha, just jokin'

We just roll with it...it comes with the territory when owning a boat or pool. As long as they are cool, don't be jerks, and atleast offer to lift a hand every now and then, all is well. It's kind of like when you are the only one of your friends who owns a truck...when moving day comes guess who gets the call.

Now for the people who don't do squat or act like jerks...well, thank goodness for caller ID.

The ones who are true friends, c'mon over.
For the "Summer Friends" it's "you gotta come fishing/swimming with me sometime, I'll give you a call when I'm all set."

well I always have parties for my boating buddies/pool owners in the winter, its only right thing to do, let them get Amway products, Tupperware, Avon, the pots and pans party is a Christmas tradition.

I had a house on the beach with a pool and a boat, and I'm a contractor with all the tools. Seems like everyone wants something from you. I'd say that you find out who your friends are when you move across the country to a desert. But, I'm in Las Vegas and they all want to come visit:(.

I've known people like that my whole life. I can't stand people who invite themselves over or ask to go on the boat. Unfortunately, it seems like most would rather just 'know somebody' with a boat, rather than buying and owning their own.

Funny you should mention this ..... got the "full court press" from the son of one of my female friends last night. The second he found out I had a boat, the "when do you go fishing" questions came at 100 mph!
