For about five hours in a pretty solid rain. Headliner and carpets are dry now, but the leather, heated seats are still moist. VR6 VW. Any suggestions on drying the seats? TIA.

Park it in Texas, Oklahoma or Kansas for about half a day. No worries about rain here.

I would leave the windows open with a fan blowing on it. Expect to have some mildew also.

I'd let them dry naturally. It would be best if you could borrow a real dehumidifier, especially if the leather has any perferations in it. In fact, a dehumidifer would be the best for the whole interior. It will wick moisture out of the carpets and fabrics that might otherwise stay below the surface and start to mold.

Then I would borrow an ozone generator and let it run inside the closed car for a day after the dehumidifier did it's job. Acutally, you could run them simultaneously. It would kill any mildew and mold before they got a foothold.

I would do as Boomyal says, or consider removing the seats and the carpeting from the vehicle and letting them dry and air out. If you have any mildew at all, replace the carpeting and the pad, and treat the seats.

good luck,

fp

Dont close the windows or roof all the way or it will mildew and never dry.Keep a fan in there on full blast. You need some nice dry days to benefit you.If rain is in the forcast, get it in a garage but dont close it up or you will be sorry.Charlie
