Hey guys, have an 87 236SB, need a replacement prop as the previous owner stuck something that looks like it was attacked by pirahna. It also seems to be undersized for the boat itself. VP AQ225 with a 280 Outdrive. Would anyone happen to know what the stock prop size is? or recommend an upgrade?

Im new to the boating world and from what I gather sizing props is typically a trial and error process, I figured factory stock would be a good place to start and finding any documentation on these boats is pretty tough.

Thanks in advance.

Re: SunRunner Help

- Boat won't rev past 3000 at WOT under load. Revs clean in neutral. Since have done complete tuneup and a good cleaning of the bottom and outdrive (had severe barnacle and sea grass buildup). Bad cavitation.
- Not sure of the prop manufacturer no noticeable markings but it's aluminum and its beat to hell. Not sure of the current diameter and pitch.
- The boat is an 87 Sunrunner 236SB with Volvo Penta 225D (225hp?) and AQ280 outdrive. Listed as 23ft and just under 5000lbs I believe.

Thanks!

Re: SunRunner Help

Due to the somewhat secret prop numbers I would suggest you take the prop to a prop shop and have them measure it.They also may be able to tell you if they can fix the prop.
Is the bottom of the boat clean and smooth?
