Did anyone see the program on Science Channel on the Super Servant 3 & 4 cargo ships? It was amazing. These two ships specialize in moving yachts and sailing ships around the world. These ships sink their decks many feet below the water when the balast tanks are filled. Then large yachts are driven on. When the balast is released the cargo ship rises and the yachs end up resting on their keels in V shaped mounts. Then huge iron beams are welded to the decks to support the hulls in the high seas. Everything is chained down and packed tight as cars on a ferry. One medium size yach paid $8000 for a ride from Florida to the Bahamas. Worth it they say to avoid storms, wear and tear, cost of fuel and crew, etc. Plus a reduced crew can stay on the yacht, and perform maintenance on the hull and props because it's like being in dry dock.

It was really interesting. The captians gave some good insight to the people who own these boats. If you can catch the program again, I suggest watching it.
