hi everyone
i had a few problems with water in cylinders and only one exhaust bank overheating. found impellar in the supply pump blew apart and one fin cloged water passage to the exhaust, hopefully that is the fix.
but my question is is it a big deal that the impellar that i took out has 12 fins and the dealer i went to gave me one with 10.

Re: supply pump

Isn't that what I advised you to look for back in your "water in cylinders" thread?

It's possible the mfr changed the design of the impeller sometime along the line - as long as you gave him the right model & year info, most likely the dealer gave you the right part.

Rubber that sits around for 4 yrs is usually gonna give out soon - best to check all your rubber components now.

Re: supply pump

Again, not sure on the OMC, but are there drive shaft & shift cable bellows on the outdrive? On the Mercs, those are prone to wear & if they leak, present a direct path for water into the hull. One of the OMC gurus will chime in here, hopefully.

oour 2nd time on the boat was today and everything was great. the motor ran fine little slugish since retarding the timing for 87 octain(setting it back after using this tank) but their is a lot of smoke/steam coming from the breather tubes to thne spark arestor any thing to worrie about..
