Support outdrive for hydraulic service

I'm about to change the reservoir under the hydraulic trim pump on a 99 Volvo 5.7GSi DP in a Four Winns cruiser; the boat is on a lift.

Trim still works despite the reservoir leak. I assume one hydraulic line is under pressure from the drive weight. Should I fully lower the drive, or support the drive (tie it up with ropes, I guess) before I disconnect a hydraulic line?

I agree, either will work, but if you just lower it, there is no climbing around the transom needed.
