sure hope it fits my 115esl73m.didnt want to pass it up at $300 considering it was a buy it now!can anyone here maybe ease my nerves with some good news.i know the description is vague but my fingers are crossed.

I would guess year of the lower unit is 1970 to 1975 ( just a guess) but I would urge you to contact the seller to find it age before buying it. :/

If the year is within 73' to 77', you shouldn't have a problem bolting up. Not sure if if the gear ratio's were the same though between the different hp's that used the CF block. Part numbers are not the same for the gears and pinion. But, you can't beat the price if it's going to be a "plug and play" part.

well from my research last night,johnson only made a 115 in 1970 not in '71,'72.he claims early 70's 115hp so unless it came from a 1970 i should be straight if not could always sell it again on ebay.ill have to wait and see.

Stop worrying. The earlier ones were electric shift. You have a shift rod from the 73-77 series showing in your pix.
