The only problem I am having with my boat is getting the garage door unstuck from the ice on the ground so I can look at it.... I guess it makes for cheap maintenence.
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
Ahoy, Kevlar3000. I spent five winters out in St. Boni with my Sakonnet residing in a machine shed.. . snow drifted to 5' in front of it. I would dig it out in March and drag it to SE FL for a week.

You have my heartfelt sympathy, Sir. And, boy am I glad I live in Texas from November to May, and wish I lived in Minnesota (Northwest Angle) from June to October.

Red sky at night. . .
JB
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
J.B., I didn't think anyone lived in Boniland! Kevlar, we feel for you. I spent seven years in Blaine.

Isn't a Minnesota summer just two weeks of tough sledding?
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
i lived in Boca Raton Fla. for 5 years so i am spoiled but, i have 60 degrees now but am expecting 49 degree high on Tues. I am starting to hate South Carolina and am missing south Fla and 70 degrees real bad!!!!!!
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
LOL some great replies..... I have always said that summer is the best week of the year up here in MN... JB, MN from May to Oct is as good as it gets. It is what keeps me here ....
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
Just be glad you aint in Buffalo right now! How many days did it snow in a row? It's Cold here too, can't wait till spring striper season, My boat looks sooo lonely in the driveway. Nothing like the great Chesapeake in April!
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
I must be nuts.. I am standing out in my backyard.. in 8 degree weather holding a garden hose squirting water all over (building an ice rink) thinking this aint so bad. Then my wife started talking about making reservations for the summer up on Gull lake and the whole thing went to hell. I am now having dreams about speeding across the lake and hanging out at the sandbar. Cruel.

The only bright spot is that I have a new snowblower to use once we get some snow..
Re: Sure is hard to boat when it is 10 degrees.....
Here in Portland, Or. we recently tied our record for consecutive days of rainfall at 34. It was a rather wet and gloomy November/December. Thankfully all the snow is in the mountains... We were in the midst of a serious drought up until the beginning of November...wow did that change in a hurry! That's not necessarily good news for the prop rebuild shops though... I think those folks enjoyed their busiest year ever! Next summer I'm looking forward to returning to my favorite reservoirs that were simply too low for boating this year!

Walt

Live on the coast in Little River. Right on the border of NC/SC. 2 miles from a boat launch which is 2 miles from the nearest inlet. I enjoy 9 months of the year here. The other 3 are just too cold for my standards. (ave. high 45-55)
