Surface drive propeller

Can you place an outboard motor prop. on a surface drive motor? I’m building a surface drive motor but I don’t like the choices of mud motor props. I want to know has anybody tried to do this. If it didn’t work, what is the difference besides the shaft for the prop?

Welcome to iboats

Most Outboard Props are not designed for operating Partially Submerged, and are also designed to have Exhaust expelled through them, which is not going to happen when used on a Surface Drive.
