I recently repaired the surge brakes on my 6000 lb. Boat trailer.Iwas wondering if I am going to have trouble backing up now it doesn,t have a slot to stick a lockout bolt through that i can see,,and it doesn't have an electric sylenoid lockout like some newer ones. there is a small orifice just between the master cylinder and brake line is that what that is for?IT is drum brakes by the way. Thanks for any info.

The trailer may have "free backing" brakes which means you don't need a reversing solenoid or a lockout pin. The orfice you mention may be a bleeder screw and if that's the case, no, it is not for backing.

Drums can back up w/o a lock out, disks require one or they will lock up when reversing.

My drums can't be backed up without a lock out pin...
