It depends on your time and money. Although its been discussed I personally don't think you can ever truly dry out a stringer thats wet, even if its not rotten. Even if you somehow could expose it and dry it out with industrial blowers and dehumidifiers, AFTER exposing it it could still be rotten somewhere. Its gotta come out. A stringer job on a 40 footer isn't going to be cheap nor easy.
