Then absolutely! I bought my Silverton from a private seller in Southport 6 1/2 years ago.
I hired a surveyor from Wilmington who did an excellent and thorough job.
He was a good guy and the survey was very complete and detailed.
After completing the sale, I brought the (then) 20-year-old boat 450 miles up the ICW with no mechanical issues the whole trip.
Hopefully his contact info is the same.
