Yes. I have a Suzuki DT115 I've had since 1986 and has many many hours on it in "saltwater". Only problems I ever had was a bad water flow swtich and after 20 years the water tube between the two heads finally sprung a small leak from all the saltwater. Got a new head and it runs as great. I have now a Suzuki DT140 on the boat that was an only fresh water used motor and it runs great. I would suggest however to at least perform a compression check of the cylinders and make sure they are within compression betwen cylinders as Suzki reccomends. Other than that just look at the motor overall and see if there are noticeable warning signs, like alot of corrosion, has the water pump been service regularly, condition of gear oil and other routine things.
Just to note when I bought the 86 Suzuki no US motor at that time had the ignition system, oil injection, stainless shaft etc. I would say I'm very proud to say to others that the 86 to 90 motors are greta motors from my experience. I put a lot of hours on my Suzuki OB.

I had over 5000 hours on my first 140 (same as the 115 except for carbs/intakes/oil pump) when the gearcase finally corroded through. Then another 3500 hours on the next 140 before I sold the boat. If the current owner ihas been using NON-aftermarket oils, you'll have a great engine.

The motor should have an engine monitor gage that has built-in warnings for low oil flow detection, water temperature warning, and over rev warning.
Run the engine for at least 10 min to see if the monitor sounds off any warnings.
And feel the pee water trail water, should be real warm but not very hot.
Good Luck
