Hi,

When I gave a Suzuki 200 engine full throttle for 2 minutes, it suddenly slow down while the engine was still taking lots of Rpm's. It could only sail really slow afterwards. It was like only a bit of the engine power was transmitted to the propeller.

Anybody know what could be wrong?

I'm just about to buy the engine but...

-Morten

If you add power and you go slow, you have a spun prop. If you get lots of RPS, but no knots, you have a spun prop. Get on line, oh, you are on line, go to iboats, oh, you are on Iboats, search for a prop on Iboats.com. By the way, you have a spun prop.

Its no big deal really. Just take the prop off and take it to a prop shop. They will "rehub" it. The process is painless and inexpensive.

Oh, and its not necessary to have hit something to spin a prop. Sometimes they just let go. I had one spin on me the very first time I laid the throtle down after launching, and it was a brand new prop that had not been on the boat for 3 minutes.

Like I said, its no big deal. I think the last one I had spin cost me $35 US) to have it rehubbed. Obviously I have no idea what it will cost you in Denmark. Some places will do it while you wait, some take a day or two. I'm sure its just a matter of how busy they are.

Thom
