MY SUZUKI 40 HAS GIVEN ME MANY YEARS OF GREAT SERVICE. BUT RECENTLY WHEN RUNNING AT MID TO FULL THROTTLE, THE OIL LIGHT FLASHES AND THE MOTOR CUTS ON AND OFF. OIL RES. IS FULL.

ALSO, IT HAS BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO CRANK, (I DON'T HAVE AN ELECTRIC START EITHER!)

ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. MOST OF MY ENGINE EXPERIENCE IS WITH DIESEL INBOARDS. LOCAL SERVICE IS NOT MUCH HELP.

THANKS

Re: SUZUKI 40 OIL LIGHT

don't know exactly about your motor, but on my '87 v6 (200 hp) the oil flow sensor is reportedly very sensative to changes in flow and will trip the safeties without a visual on the multipurpose gauge.

i'd recommend cleaning or replacing the oil flow sensor.
