Re: Suzuki 65 DT prop question
The present setup is really working well.
Motor at max wot rpm, good hole shot and decent speed with a good 10% slip.
Stainless prop will cost about 3 times the aluminum.
You may want to start by being sure they aren't carrying unnecessary weight.
and that it is placed for the best speed.
The anti vent plate(just above the prop) should be even with or slightly above the bottom of the transom.
careful adjustment of the trim. for best rpm and speed.
I think the change to aluminum is fairly straight forward. Something like a Solas Amita 3 blade 14" pitch should work.
May lose a little hole shot but speed and hole shot usually don't go together.
It might improve the slip and perhaps get the boat up altitle more on the water.perhaps a little more speed.
If you want to gamble a little, a 13" Turning point Hustler may give a slight across the board improvement.
It is considered an aggressive prop thats why I suggest going back to a 13.The solas is more predictable.
